We had been searching for tough trail running shoes and came accross the Salomon shoes. I have gone running up sand volcanoes and they grip to the sand like nothing else I had felt. We then went on some mountain trails and walked through some river rocks and they did not slip at all. Really enjoy them!

These are good looking and high quality shoes. They seem to be a bit light on padding (insole looks/feels thin) BUT nevertheless I have had no problem wearing them - they remain comfortable all day long for standing/walking. They fit snugly around the heel (a lot of support there), and I DID get some blistering on my heel with them for the first few days, but after they got broken in they were very good with no further problems, and I was wearing them daily for work for many months until I decided I wanted a different color/style of shoe but they are still my 2nd favorite and go-to daily wear shoe. They are also very good for hiking up a mountain which I did also. Stable, strong, and adjustable (I wear them fairly loose for work and tight for hiking). I have a bunion on my left food and so usually I try to get wide width shoes, I got the regular medium width of these, sometimes there is a bit of pain in the bunion but usually there is no problem. I've washed them once or twice by putting them in the regular washing machine (which I realize you are not supposed to do but I don't care) and they survived that just fine too. I expect I will get several years wear out of these.
